Symposium on Anthropogenic Hazards

The event was a great success, bringing together around forty participants from diverse backgrounds for rich, multidisciplinary discussions centered on data related to anthropogenic risk.

The Symposium on Anthropogenic Hazards is organized in the framework of the EPOS ERIC Thematic Core Service for Anthropogenic Hazards (TCS‑AH). TCS‑AH is a European research infrastructure dedicated to understanding and mitigating human‑induced geohazards, providing access to high‑quality, time‑correlated datasets "Episodes" that link industrial activities, such as geothermal energy production, mining, and fluid injection, to seismic events and ground deformation.

At the heart of TCS‑AH is the EPISODES Platform, a virtual laboratory that enables collaborative research, education, and public engagement by allowing users to visualize, analyze, and model multidisciplinary data.

Consortium Board Meeting

We are delighted that, as a member of the Consortium Board of the TCS-AH through the CDGP - the French node for anthropogenic hazard data - we had the opportunity to host our European collaborators in Strasbourg. In addition to the symposium, we organized the annual Consortium Board Meeting on November 24 and 25. This meeting served as a key moment to review the progress achieved throughout 2025 and to collaboratively prepare the work programme for 2026, ensuring continued advancement in research and data integration for anthropogenic hazard monitoring.

Symposium Anthropogenic Hazards

The symposium, traditionally held right after the Consortium Board Meeting, was a wonderful opportunity to continue our collaborative exchanges. We were thrilled to welcome around forty participants from diverse backgrounds and various European countries. The discussions were rich, multidisciplinary, and deeply engaging, all set against the charming backdrop of the Alsatian winter atmosphere in Strasbourg.
